Product description: Coprinus-capsules with 100% mushroom powder from the whole mushroom

The Coprinus has a long history. In Germany, it is also known as asparagus mushroom, porcelain mushroom or Schopftintling. It belongs to the mushroom family. Throughout Europe, the Coprinus can be found in forests and meadows. The young mushrooms are extremely popular due to their tender consistency and mild and excellent aroma.

A true all-rounder:

Due to its special shape and brilliant white color, the Coprinus can also be easily distinguished from other mushrooms and is therefore often collected by hikers and hunters. The Coprinus is very tender in consistency and has a very mild aroma.

Harvest even several times a day:

However, this mushroom also has a unique "self-destruction" mechanism. Therefore, the fresh Coprinus should be eaten within one day of harvest at the latest. Older specimens are no longer edible, as they melt into an inky liquid. By the way, this is where the German name "Schopftintling" comes from. We grow our Coprinus on a specially prepared organic straw substrate. It is important for this sensitive fungus to create ideal conditions for it during the "growing through" phase, which lasts several weeks. We ensure this with ultra-modern cultivation rooms specially designed to meet the needs of our company. Because this mushroom literally "shoots" out of the ground, it is sometimes even necessary to harvest several times a day and process it immediately. A special feature of the cultivation of Coprinus is that it requires relatively cool temperatures. Therefore, in order to be sustainable and save energy, we grow it only in the winter months. Thus, we accommodate the "nature" of the mushroom and reduce the otherwise high energy requirements of the cultivation rooms.

Ingredients:
Crested Intintling (Coprinus comatus) powder* (from controlled organic cultivation),
Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) Capsules

Production:
The cultivation and processing into mushroom powder capsules takes place entirely and exclusively in our plant in Limeshain, Germany. The ripe, freshly harvested mushroom is dried immediately after harvest in our special, gentle drying process, gently ground into powder with a water-cooled mill and filled into HPMC capsules. There is no intermediate storage (e.g. in cold storage). Due to the immediate, fast and gentle processing, we guarantee that all important ingredients are preserved and the mushroom does not lose its natural, useful properties for human nutrition. Some millet may be present in the product. (Click here to watch our production video)

What makes us so special?

If possible, everything from one region

The word "home" is very important to us as a family business. We are rooted in the region and the people here and, above all, we want to create regional jobs and secure them in the long term.

Family atmosphere

Many of our employees have been with our company for decades and appreciate both the short commute to work and the family atmosphere. In addition to the positive effect on the climate and the strengthening of the business location, a good work-life balance is important to us.

Growing but conserving resources

We source raw materials such as maize and wood chips from regional suppliers for the cultivation of our organic medicinal mushrooms. This means we have short transport routes and can support local farmers and local businesses.

There are many small adjustments that can be made to make a company sustainable. For example, our production and all of the company's vehicles are powered by electricity generated by our own photovoltaic system (200 kW). We can therefore largely dispense with combustion engines. In addition, heat-loving mushrooms that thrive at high temperatures are only grown in summer. Cold-loving mushrooms are grown in the cold season to save heating and cooling energy. Two combined heat and power plants, which utilise the principle of cogeneration, ensure a higher degree of energy utilisation.
