The resin of the incense tree (lat. Boswellia) was already used for ritual and religious purposes, as well as for external and internal applications, in the high civilisations of antiquity. Written indications about the use of the valuable resin, which was as precious as gold at the time of the Saba kings, can be found for example in more than 3500-year-old writings from the Nile Valley.

The ancient Egyptians used incense to cleanse and perfume the air, as well as for ointments and treating wounds, among other things. Hippocrates and other Greek-Roman physicians valued its powers, as did the Persian physician and philosopher Hakim Avicenna born around 980, who is still famous today for his work “Canon of Medicine”, or the great Hildegard von Bingen in the Middle Ages.

The substances contained in incense have only been studied scientifically for the last few decades. Its boswellic acids are of particular interest.

High content of active boswellic acids

Our incense is sourced from sustainable wild gathering in East African countries (Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan) and in southern Arabia (Yemen and Oman). The pleasantly aromatic, light yellow to brownish-yellow resin is extracted by scarifying the trunks of incense trees, primarily of the Boswellia carterii type, which has the highest content of the highly effective boswellic acids, according to analysis results. The harvesting period is between December and March.

Before processing it further, we check the incense resin for harmful residue such as heavy metals or pesticides, in accordance with the strict regulations of German Food Law. All checks are carried out in Germany. Then the resin is carefully and finely ground, also in Germany. This procedure ensures the preservation of all valuable substances contained in the incense, as well as their optimal absorption by the organism.

The cultivation and processing into mushroom powder capsules takes place entirely and exclusively on our premises in Limeshain, Germany. The mature, freshly harvested mushroom is dried immediately after harvesting, using our special careful drying process, then ground into powder carefully with a water-cooled mill and filled into HPMC capsules. There is no interim storage (e.g. cold storage). Through the immediate, quick and careful processing, we ensure that all important substances it contains are preserved and that the mushroom does not lose its natural beneficial properties for human nutrition. It may contain traces of millet.

Recommended intake:
1 capsule 3 x a day at mealtimes with plenty of liquid.
Store the product in a closed container in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and out of the reach of children. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, a doctor should be consulted before consumption.

There are many small adjustments that can be made to make a company sustainable. For example, our production and all of the company's vehicles are powered by electricity generated by our own photovoltaic system (200 kW). We can therefore largely dispense with combustion engines. In addition, heat-loving mushrooms that thrive at high temperatures are only grown in summer. Cold-loving mushrooms are grown in the cold season to save heating and cooling energy. Two combined heat and power plants, which utilise the principle of cogeneration, ensure a higher degree of energy utilisation.
