The vital mushroom Poria Cocos has always been held in high esteem in East Asia.

The vital mushroom Poria Cocos has always been held in high esteem in East Asia.... In China it is called Fu Ling.

The natural occurrences of Poria Cocos are mainly found in eastern China. It is also found in Australia and the southeast of the USA. It grows in the soil under pine trees, hence its German name "Kiefernschwamm". By the way, this vital mushroom is also known under the name "coconut mushroom". However, this is based more on its appearance and less on its taste. Its round shape and brown skin make it resemble a small coconut. In English, the Poria Cocos is called "Indian Bread", "Indian Potatoe" or "Tuckahoe".

The fruiting body of this mushroom grows underground in nature (similar to truffles). It is considered one of the "exotic" mushrooms. Our mushroom powder contains all the important components and ingredients of Poria Cocos.

What makes us so special?

If possible, everything from one region

The word "home" is very important to us as a family business. We are rooted in the region and the people here and, above all, we want to create regional jobs and secure them in the long term.

Family atmosphere

Many of our employees have been with our company for decades and appreciate both the short commute to work and the family atmosphere. In addition to the positive effect on the climate and the strengthening of the business location, a good work-life balance is important to us.

Growing but conserving resources

We source raw materials such as maize and wood chips from regional suppliers for the cultivation of our organic medicinal mushrooms. This means we have short transport routes and can support local farmers and local businesses.

There are many small adjustments that can be made to make a company sustainable. For example, our production and all of the company's vehicles are powered by electricity generated by our own photovoltaic system (200 kW). We can therefore largely dispense with combustion engines. In addition, heat-loving mushrooms that thrive at high temperatures are only grown in summer. Cold-loving mushrooms are grown in the cold season to save heating and cooling energy. Two combined heat and power plants, which utilise the principle of cogeneration, ensure a higher degree of energy utilisation.
